River Valley Middle School (RVMS) houses grades six through eight and has approximately 950 students. The mission of RVMS is to create an environment in which our diverse student population can acquire the skills, knowledge and responsibilities necessary to become productive citizens in an ever-changing world.
Technology is at the forefront of instruction at River Valley Middle School with all students being assigned personal Chromebooks. Teachers can communicate with students and parents through PowerSchool, Google Classroom (per teacher) and school email.
Students are actively engaged in their learning during their six period day, with instruction in core classes as well as related arts, intervention, and enrichment opportunities such as Project Lead the Way.
An involved PTO provides students and teachers with support through volunteer service. A partnership with Communities in Schools provides after school tutoring for academic improvement.
RVMS has many before and after school clubs and activities including various sports, art, community service and academic teams and clubs. The Media Center not only provides 23,000 + collection of materials for students, but also a virtual library for 24/7, 12 months a year access to reading materials.
